The grass itself is non-toxic for your four-legged friend. However, there are many other threats lurking in that grass.
Insecticides, fertilizers, and pesticides are all threats to your dog. While taking your dog outside in your own yard may be safe, your dog might be at risk during a walk around the neighborhood or park. All three of these items are commonly used on grass and can obviously be toxic to your dog.
Also found in your grass are hookworms and roundworms. When your dog eats grass they may unknowingly ingest a certain type of worm.
And finally, the Parvovirus. Parvo can be a deadly virus contracted by your dog. It is passed from dog to dog through fecal matter. The Parvovirus is potentially fatal to your dog if it's left untreated, however, most dogs are vaccinated against parvo while they're young.
Fun Fact: Studies have shown that wolves eat grass too. As it is found in 11-47% of their stool samples.

First things first, check your dog's diet. Ensure that they are getting enough fiber in their daily meals. Adding fiber to your dog's diet is essential to improving their health.
